A warm welcome back for Surf Guide Algarve
The best part of the holiday is coming back home, words by my dad. While its super nice to be on a holiday, nothing beats your own bed and your own waves. Luke from the Raglan surf report podcast said it in an epic way. You should always go to a place where the waves are much worse then your own so when you come back you will appreciate home even more. Although our holiday was by no means a surf trip, we did manage to catch a few waves! *onshore 1 foot on a foamy with our buddy who owns the surf school there. Family meet ups, mixed with some epic adventures making it into a real vacation. Returning back in Portugal the wind blows east, Soeste as we call it here. Meaning, hot as hell and offshore on the West-Coast! A very warm welcome back for surf guide algarve.

Stokes are better shared
As been mentioned many times before, stokes are better shared. Paddling back out seeing your buddy stroking for a beautiful wave is just as good as getting one yourself. To make sure the first session back in the Algarve is a good one we call one of our OG surf buddies. Long before surf guide algarve got her name this guy already sharing the adventures with us. Good bad and everything in between, with this guy on board it will be a fun surf guaranteed. Adding a dude from France, keen to see what this place has to offer and we have our crew complete.

Better then you dare to dream
In essence the forecast for the first session looks pretty good. Usually the rule is that when you get too excited the waves are not as good as you hope for. Especially here in the Algarve where a lot of things need to get in line to get really good. Short night of sleep, a week no surf, all in all just stoked to get back out again. At the same time, the forecast does look good, lets see what happens. To sum it all up, its better then you dare to dream for about an hour and half. Tubes and good walls, no one out and a soft offshore blowing rainbows over the back of the waves. Once our guest makes it out the back I take off on a huge tipi and get completely covered. Barrels are always special but this one probably will stick around for a little while. What a warm welcome back home.
