Another Hurricane Swell done with Surf Guide Algarve
Scientist do not all agree about the climate change, what is a fact is that the weather becomes more and more extreme. Hotter summers, colder winters, and most obvious off all, more big storms. As we all know, for waves we need storms. Located in one of the best spots in Europe where we can hide for cover if things get a bit crazy, we are ready for almost anything. Another Hurricane making its way trough the ocean. Gabrielle is her name, swell generated relatively close to Portugal this time, but with serious size. Big or small waves, or maybe both?
Orange weather alert, huge waves traveling trough the ocean. Laying in bed waking up way too early by the sound of a howling wind ripping trough the chimney. Yes we have these kinda storms sometimes, but it is still different and exciting every time. Will we find surf again or will it be too much? Finally its time to get out of bed and see what the ocean has in store for us. Rewarded with the most friendly surf you can ever imagine. Fresh of the plane our Norwegian guest loves every bit of it and surfs his brains out. Obviously I take some good waves but leave a little energy for the afterparty… Good thing I did cause i need every bit of energy for this paddle!
What a difference a day makes
Twenty four little hours, Dinah Washington sings this so beautiful. Anyway, the day after the big swell the surf drops by about three quarters. Almost hard to believe we surfing the same spot with fun kind of mellow waves where yesterday it seems almost impossible to get out.
