Nature has its ways, find out with Surf Guide Algarve
One of the things that is so special about surfing, is that you feel really humble in the ocean. Mother ocean, or nature in general is so powerful, dangerous and beautiful. Every day the Surf Guide Algarve team tries to find the best place to slide down a piece of unbroken salt water. Algarve offers a lot of different options, so there are waves almost every day of the year. Obviously not every day is epic, yet with the right crew epic is not always what we need! Find out how Nature has its ways, good and sometimes painful.
Love hurts sometimes
Compare surfing with any other extreme sport and you will find out that it is actually pretty safe. Especially if you see what kind of wipe-outs we get away with most of the time unharmed. Interesting enough whenever I do get hurt or damage my equipment it is not on the most high pressure moments. Honestly most of the times it is on the moments that can be avoided easily. Two days in a row I absolutely get murdered by the fin of my own surfboard. Both days on a backside wipe-out. First I call the last wave, damage my wetsuit with a huge cut. *finbox still in place. Second day one of the surf guide algarve crew offers to shoot a few pictures to finish the session of with some presents. Very last wave, wipe out, this time wetsuit okay but finbox not. Love hurts sometimes…
A combination of good Karma, luck and knowledge
Three, its a magic number. Today we have two very much returning guests on the schedule. Forecast a little tricky but with fresh energy and positive vibes we set sail for Zavial. Sand is all washed off the beach, so that means its in the ocean. Rewarded by mother nature we score one of the most fun waves the Algarve has to offer with no one out. After a super long session I take one more wave, sprint to the camera and manage to take a few pictures that hopefully capture partly how special this really is. Get in touch if you also want to share a session with surf guide algarve! Good vibes guaranteed, good waves not always lol.
