The Surf Guide Algarve crew celebrating offshore days on the West-Coast
Thanks to the many different beaches that all facing different directions it will always be offshore somewhere. Obviously we need the swell to cooperate to make it surfable. During summer there is offshore on the south coast for weeks on hand, yet not much waves. That is why the surf guide algarve crew is celebrating now. Because we have East wind, creating offshore wind on the West-Coast. Making the waves just a little bit more critical, cleaner and nicer to surf. Enjoy the full story and pictures.
Is the Algarve Empty?
Looking at the Surf Guide Algarve stories you would assume so. Funny enough the opposite is true. Every second car us driving with boards up or in the car. Where do they all go? Possibly wherever the magic surf-lie sends them. While I wait for the surf guide guest in the morning I count 10 cars in 8 minutes, all going to the same spot, coincidence? Thinking outside the box has never hurt anyone and we score another session with no one else in the water.
Who is on for fotos
Ask any surfer in the world if he or she wants a foto of the best wave and the answer will be always the same, of course. Now surf photographers need to get payed too and most sessions are not really to land in your top 5 best sessions ever. So how do we end up with so much footage? Simple, we all take turns whenever we feel like! Our shredding surfergirl already prepares to maybe not surf. Waves on the West-Coast are often bigger then they look and harder to surf. But whats a better start of the day then on the beach? This morning takes an unexpected turn. Cause the waves are actually super friendly. Miss surfergirl catching the most waves of the crew while one of the crew shoots some epic shots. Fancy joining the mission, get in touch!
