The Surf Guide Algarve stoke family keeps growing
Officially its still spring for another 20 days. Yet in the Algarve summer mode seems to be pretty much activated. However, it still feels comfortably quiet on the beaches. At least the ones we surf! Surf Guide Algarve is not designed to serve for the masses. In fact its build just to surf with a selected few. Like the mafia, once you are in, there is no way out. We really see our guests as extended family and friends. Returning guests always get priority in bookings too. But its also super nice to see new faces. Enjoy the story how the Surf Guide Algarve stoke family keeps growing!
Your stoke level matters most
You can be the biggest shredder in the world, but with a bad attitude you can find your own waves. For a number of reasons we are super careful who we take on the Surf Guide Algarve missions. In the end we are playing in the most dangerous playground of the world. Ocean knowledge and basic surf techniques are key. That does not mean you need to be a pro surfer to join the tour! One of our current guests is a surfer from New York. Honest about his level we set him up with an intermediate lesson first. Confident to be able to catch waves on his own *and the green light from our friend the surf instructor, he is ready for the real deal.
Nature always has her ways
Huge tides, strong winds, mixing swells, the forecast is mediocre at best these days. Good thing we are not looking for perfect barrels then. Plus we wont see many of the local shredders either with sub-par conditions. Whenever we have an empty beach with rideable waves, it usually is already a score. All of a sudden the tide just drops a little further and creates a perfect window. Perfect small barrels with almost no one out… Nature always has her ways!
One more last wave
Last sessions always count a little extra. Finishing with a good one and you take that one home with you burning to get back. Shocker sessions to finish up is not really advisable, for obvious reasons.
Today we start with amazing shoulder high conditions. Strong offshore but nice opening waves and not many people in the water. Especially not for Beliche standards. Tide changing for the worse and the swell seems to drop too. Mother ocean goes silent for a bit and literally everyone but us leave the lineup. Shortly after the waves return for about a milion and one, ‘one more waves‘ for the surf guide algarve crew only. That is how you finish a surf trip in style!
