Surf Guide Algarve scoring small wave perfection in June
June feels a bit like summer, but is not just yet. While the wind is kicking in also the swells seem to disappear. Lucky for us there is still quite a lot of movement in the ocean. Just enough to hide from the wind and catch really fun offshore waves. Interesting enough with very little people in the water! Please enjoy the full story, ‘‘Surf Guide Algarve scoring small wave perfection in June‘‘.
Take the board that gives you most fun
Look at the three pictures above, longboard, mid-length, shortboard. As you can see, there is not one board ‘better‘ or ‘best‘. It all depends on your personality, skills and wave conditions. Personally I really like shorter boards. Always experimenting with different shapes and ideas, backed by the Gibson Surfboards crew. During these small wave sessions I use a 15 year old surfboard. CI All Merrick Neckbeard 2, a world famous model that I wanted to try for ever. Stored as a collection Item at the Gibsons house I promise I will not break it…
Surf Photographer
Most of the pictures used in the anti-social media and here are shot by mr. Surf Guide Algarve. Fun extra for the guests, and the only way to make these blogs interesting. We all love a *good, photo from ourself in action. Waves always only take a couple of seconds and this way we literally freeze a beautiful moment. Often times I use fotos also to improve techniques. Video would be even better, but in a still you can also see what looks good and what can be done better. In the end we are all our own critics. Today our friend joins the adventure to shoot some pictures. Obviously the waves really do not cooperate but somehow with the right angle and a lot of patience our buddy manages to get some sick ones.
Play by the rules, please!
Mother ocean is and always will be the most dangerous playground in the world. To avoid injuries and damage, smart people came up with surf-rules long time ago. Rules in the water apply to everyone involved and are, pretty simple. Join the Surf Guide Algarve missions, you sign that you understand and follow the rules in the lineup. Unfortunately not everyone does. And that can be dangerous. Please play by the rules and the surf stays as fun as it should be. This is how I almost broke the museum surfboard… lucky I got a good turn in the end…
