Surf Guide Algarve charging the best week this summer
Do you believe in luck? Personally I believe in calculated luck, where you are always a great part responsible for what happens next. Often times people say ‘man you are so lucky, you get to surf every day!‘ True, but at the same time it also took a long road to get to this point. Plus it is not always easy to run a small business and family. Right now one of our VIP surf guide algarve guests is visiting and somehow he always brings waves. As been mentioned before, this summer is crap, but with him back in Portugal we at least finish August with a bang. Enjoy how the Surf Guide Algarve crew is charging the best week this summer.
Are you really ready?
All of a sudden the wind switches, and the ocean provides. Honestly we have not seen numbers like this since winter. Will it really be as big as it says on the forecast? Where should we go? Playing it as safe as possible we set off in the dark. Ponta Ruiva can hold some size and power and with some experience the point is a good option. Meanwhile the beach break is a complete mission. But there is the absolute diamond in the rough for those who want to risk it. Joined by two semi-local dudes that I am super stoked to have in my corner when waves get serious. One of our friends / vip dudes stays dry and pics up the camera, making sure we send it extra hard.
The days after
Pitures are just moments in time, it might look epic on photo, in reality it was a real mission. Current, wash trough sets, heavy closeouts, all of it. Surely we will do it again any moment we get the chance! Especially in summer a very rare session. Days after are a little more relaxed. Zavial mini point to rest the shoulders the direct day after. Closing the marathon with a super fun *and pretty solid session at Castalejo. Joined also by a french lady living in Marocco. Very skilled but impressed by the Portuguese power of the waves.
