Scoring a private point break with Surf Guide Algarve
Likely the easiest wave you can surf is a point break. Finding the takeoff spot usually is easier and obviously you only surf one direction. Today we are scoring a private left hand point break. Arguably conditions can get even better, but sessions simply do not. Joined by two surfergirls, both with plenty of experience to belong on a spot like this, this session is one for the books. Waves connecting all the way to the beach only to paddle back with dry hair and do it all over again. Enjoy the Surf Guide Algarve story.
Perfect warmup
Every surfer knows, after a bit of time out of the ocean you need a little time to warm up again. Starting off with some smaller easier waves is perfect. Get that confidence and timing back, bigger more challenging waves can wait. *one day to be exact. Indeed the first surf session fresh of the plane for our returning surf guide guest is super chilled. Clean like never before, just not a breath of wind. Waist high waves with a short period, to catch a ton of waves, making it a perfect warmup.
The day of days
As been mentioned before, Mother Ocean always has her ways. She simply just does her thing and that is exactly why we love surfing so much. Scoring sessions like this is why we surf and they can not be planned. Luckily the second surfergirl joining the surf guide algarve mission today comes straight out of Marocco. Powerful waves is something she is familiar with, the stunning empty lineup of this spot, not so much. Fog drifting in making the place look like a scene from Jurrassic Park while perfect empty waves roll in. As soon as we are getting ready to paddle out trough the channel a local friend joins in. One of those dudes that actually adds flavour to a session. Funny its only the start of the trip for these girls yet I have the feeling we will not top this.
