One more before I go, back to Zavial with Surf Guide Algarve
The famous last words from any surfer on the end of the surf session. And more often than not, that last wave will take for ever. If it does not, there will follow a few more last ones- until you are waiting for ever for the last one. We are a funny bunch, standing up early to get changed in a cold wet suit, to then float in the ocean for a few hours. Just to stand up a few times on a bit of moving salt water. Or at least that is what the goal seems to be. Surfing is much more than that. Its all of the above and more. Is watching the forecast and dreaming of perfect waves also surfing? Today the Surf Guide Algarve crew goes back to zavial. To stand up at least a few times on moving salt water and get that cold wetsuit wet again.
Take the board you have most fun on
Not to be confused with a funboard, although that will work too. This morning in Zavial you can really surf any board you like. There are surfers sitting a little further out on longboards. Mr. Surf Guide Algarve sit on his shortboard toothpick. Foamies, single fins, twins- its all here. The rule is simple. Take the board that you have most fun on.
