There can only be a very pretty spot fitting to a name like this. This little spot is not very well known for her surf. Most of the year go by very tranquil and without a single wave. Making this beach ideal for (summer)tourist who like to go for a swim and work on their than. With the Large jetty on the left and cliffs surrounding the beach you’re mostly protected from the North and east winds. The beach bar does some amazing live music in summer season, a must visit even without waves.
Located on the south coast of the Algarve it is one of the ‘ so many’ beautiful little beaches you can visit in this region. Be careful not to miss the turnoff towards the dirt roas leading you into the parking in front of the restaurant. Although it is a very small beach it is hardly really busy.
As mentioned before. This spot only wakes up a few times a year. But if it does- and you are there- it can be amazing. The big jetty on the east side of the beach protects the surf from a easterly wind. and obviously the north wind is offshore. There are waves with a very big north west swell and with a south swell. Like any other beach break the sand banks changing every day so if you should surf it on a high or lower tide you will need to ask your surf guide.
This beach has very mean boulder rocks on the bottom. Be careful when walking in or out of the water that you do not get hurt when a wave washes some of the builders back and forward (over your feet.) Also be careful with the local fisherman. The fisherman fish here all year long, every day. They really do not mind sharing the water with us surfers. What they do mind is when you come to close to their lines. Pay attention!
Last but not least, always pay attention to the local guys and girls in the line-up. If you new here, act like it. Let the dude that was there before have the first wave of the set. Show respect and share the stoke.
Our friends of the coffee shop ‘ coffee & waves’. got married on this beach. From that moment on it will always stay ‘ the wedding beach’ for them.
