The last of the winter winds

Mother nature reminded us again over the weekend it can’t be all roses and sunshine. I did get the opportunity to really test out my windsurf gear (which was really fun) but it was far from your typical ‘Algarve-weather’.
But then, when the clouds moved and the ocean cleaned up, big blue provided us with one of those days we won’t forget soon. Invited by our Spanish friend to hitch the rough off-road ride to a place he promised us waves suitable for all kinds of surfers. And he was right… We paddled out to the beachbreak where we scored wave after wave without even a moment of waiting. Nice shoulder- to head-high long opening walls with plenty of space to make speed and practice our moves. The missis got some nice, more easy, lefts and everyone had a great time. When the tide finally got too high (and our arms were almost falling off) we got lunch (in boardshorts!) with this view:
