Interesting enough, while finishing this story the first time the internet plugged out and the whole story lost. Possibly ran out of good Karma. Anyway, here is the second try, fingers crossed. To start with a question, do you even believe in Karma? Whenever you do good you often receive good too, but this obviously is not a given. In essence we are not too floaty, although floating around a lot. To sum up, this will not be a super hippie esque story. But if you want to get down that path just a little bit, please keep reading. Currently our first ever guiding guests are visiting again. Scoring fun waves at the start of the trip but the last days on the schedule look hopeless. Here we go, Surf Guide Algarve bending Karma.
Ready or not, summer is coming
By and large we had the longest winter ever. Surfing every day in often incredible conditions. Swell after swell, just incredible. Eventually even the sweetest dream ends. Ready or not, summer is coming. Coming in hot to say the least. From the one moment to the next the ocean goes flat and the wind onshore. Whenever this happens there are a couple of things you can do. First option is just go with the flow and make the most of what we got. This is what surf guide algarve is famous for and nature can sometimes throw funny curveballs at you. Remember when you have low expectations often you have the most fun sessions. Today we decide to throw the white towel in the ring and keep the surfboards in the bags. Time for some summertime activities. Pumping up a 12 foot SUP and a good beach clean to score some karma points for the next day!
When it all comes together
By the time the last day arrives the forecast still looks mediocre to say the least. On balance, we dont need much to have a good time. Tide in our favor and a wind thats holding off turning a very average looking day to possibly the best session of the trip. Surf Guide Algarve spending all their karma points in this one session. Starting off with swim with the water camera to join the small wave party afterwards. Not a single person out, perfect fun waves with some punch- sometimes it just comes all together. You recon Karma has something to do with it?
